Android VPN and Geographic Restrictions

In today's world, people are traveling farther and faster than ever before. As they are traveling, they need mobile devices that can travel with them. The problem for many Android users is that their access is restricted depending on where they travel. Many countries are now enforcing regulations that restrict access to the Internet. Several countries have been cited by individual rights groups as having strictest Internet censorship laws.
There are a multitude of Internet sites and online services that the governments of these countries have blocked. This has a great effect on the freedom of Android users throughout the world. Sites that have restricted access vary in type. For example, access to popular social networking websites and search engines have been banned in several countries.
Geographic Restrictions for Android Users
Most governments state that these restrictions work for the good of their countries. However, these types of restrictions hinder an Android user's personal freedoms. An Android user's right to access information and to share information is a key part of their freedom.
China is one example of a country with strict Internet access regulations. They frequently limit their citizens' free access to many websites. China blocks many websites hosted in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Citizens that live and work in China do not have many options when it comes to Internet access. If they are in China, their government restricts which sites hosted outside of China they can access. When they travel outside China, many Chinese websites are blocked to them.
How Android Users Can Get Unrestricted Access
There is a solution. It is reliable and available 24/7 to Android users. The answer is a virtual private network (VPN). An Android VPN allows users access to restricted sites. In addition, an Android VPN gives users access to websites that are otherwise blocked due to geographic restrictions.
An Android VPN creates an encrypted tunnel. When a user connects to the Internet through the VPN, their IP address is replaced by an IP address from the VPN server. This allows users to appear to be located anywhere in the world that their VPN provider maintains servers. For example, a Chinese citizen travelling in the US can appear to be located in China when they connect with a Chinese VPN server. This grants them access to Chinese website otherwise unavailable to users outside China.
When users select a high quality paid Android VPN provider, they restore their personal freedom on the Internet.
George Baylor writes articles about VPN security and the Android OS. Using the Andorid VPN above he is able to access his favorite sites securely, even on public Wifi. His articles help explain issues concerning technology and security.

Free VoIP Calls With Android Apps

By

Free calls are not new, probably most of you have used more than once Skype from your PC or Mac. With the advent of services like Skype for mobile, art opens the door for all calls in future we make through VoIP technology that allows us to make calls wherever we have internet access. In Android there are three major customers that allow us to make free VoIP calls, these are Tango, Viber and Skype.
Tango:
Tango originated in iOS, and already in a state of some maturity has come to Android. Using the application is very simple and easy. With Tango can place VoIP calls with any other user who has also installed Tango either in Android or iOS. We may also make video calls, but for this we need a device with front camera.
Tango scan our address book to find numbers that are registered as users of Tango, thereby providing us having to add contacts manually. To use the application Tango, we check in the application itself, and once the process, and we can begin to make free calls to family and friends.
Tango is available for free in the Android Market and requires Android 2.1 or higher to run. There is a rumor that the developers of Tango are planning out a version of Tango for desktop Mac and PC, which would not only increase the usefulness of this excellent service.
Viber:
Viber is the latest of the three services we suggest today, since his arrival in the Android Market has been waiting more than necessary. Being one of the most downloaded applications in the App Store for iOS, waiting for the arrival of Viber has become eternal.
The service will allow us to make VoIP calls and texting with your contacts using the data network of our Android. Despite being the last of the three to hit the Android Market, it is none the worse, or anything, in fact, in my opinion is the best of the three. Running Viber is even easier than Tango, since it does not require us to register as users on the application, just have to enter our phone number and we will be ready to start calling our contacts that have Viber installed.
Viber is available for free in the Android Market and requires Android 2. 0 or higher to run. Anyway, the team Viber recommended version of Android 2.2 or higher to have a good user experience.
Skype:
The acquisition by Microsoft of Skype has been one of the most talked about sales this year and has caused rivers of ink. Many analysts saw some concern that the service worsened as a result of the sale, but in fact the service has improved with the integration of this within Facebook.
Skype allows VoIP calls and send text messages for free with our contacts. No support for video call except some Sony Ericsson. Surely the main feature of Skype over the other two is the way contacts are integrated Skype on our agenda, allowing call these without need or want so if we open the application.
Certainly, Skype is the team to beat, because they were the pioneers of the VoIP calls and because its recent acquisition by Microsoft and its agreement with Facebook have not only increased the possibilities of service.
Skype is available for free in the Android Market and requires Android 2.1 or higher to run.
With which of the three services you stay?, Do you think that someday these services replace traditional calls?

Android Browser Plugin Development - Add New Abilities to your Mobile Browser

By

Android supports plug-ins. From building a cross browser application by using PhoneGap, whose features can be extended using plug-ins, to running a specific program in the Android environment, everything works with Plug-ins' support. This article justifies the use of plugin while also giving readers an insight into why the trend of plug-in travelled from web to even the mobile sector.
Journey from web to mobile
Browsers had a meaning only after 90s when internet was in the growing phase. This is when users felt the need of interacting with the computer and connecting with users across the globe. As the web progressed, internet became an essential thing. This triggered the search for an ideal browser that would enable users to perform a plethora of activities without much of a hassle. However, browsers always had limitations, and creating a new browser enriched with more and more functionalities was not possible in every short interval. Hence, the concept of browser plug-in development came into existence.
Ideally, plug-in is a piece of software, which adds specific abilities to the browser. The use of (Application Programming Interface) API enables third-party to create plug-ins that interact with the browser.
Prominent Android Plugins
The best example of Android browser plug-in development is Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash is the most powerful plugin, which allows users to view embedded Flash websites and videos, otherwise not available for devices that do not support Flash.
Android plug-in for Eclipse serves as yet another prominent extension. Eclipse being a fully featured, free, Java IDE, its plug-in allows users to create Android-specific projects, compile them and use the Android Emulator to run and debug. This plug-in for Eclipse automatically configures compiler settings and creates files. This saves the precious development and reduces the learning curve, enabling developers to invest time in creating incredible Android apps.
The android plugin development/programming practice has even leveraged the most prominent cross- platform mobile application development framework. PhoneGap makes apps run in almost every mobile environment: iOS, Android, Windows, Blackberry and more. Normally, PhoneGap supports native plugins. The development of extensions is possible because PhoneGap application container exposes native operating system functionality to JavaScript-based applications. Native plugins in PhoneGap are not the regular add-ons in desktop browsers. They allow the third-party or the community to extend the capability of the PhoneGap framework through custom code development and expose the native code to your apps via the native-to-JavaScript bridge. This enables developers to expose any native library or framework to the PhoneDap application, extending its capability to no limit.

How to Choose the Best Android PC Tablet

By

When the iPad was released, it was undoubtedly hailed the king of all tablet PC's. But not soon enough, Android tablets were released. That is when the iPad found its match in the race to the market domination of tablet PC's. For buyers who are more interested in buying an Android tablet over an Apple iPad, below are some tips that can lead you to the best Android tablet in the world market.
1. Check the speed factor.
While most Android tablets look the same, they certainly don't perform in the same way. Before buying, ask for the device's specifications and look straight at the CPU or processor detail. You want something fast for a better browsing, watching, and application-related experience. It is highly recommended that you get the Android tablet that runs on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. That's the fastest one available in the market today.
2. Check the screen feature.
Tablets are mostly built with either a resistive screen or capacitive screen. Between the two, the capacitive touch screen is the one more responsive. However, you might find it difficult to use this type during the cold weather as it needs the heat of your hands to determine contact. The resistive screen works fairly well regardless of the season but they are not as sensitive as the capacitive screen. So decide accordingly. Another feature of the touch screen display that you should check out is its size. If you want a tablet with a bigger screen, get the one that is more than 7 inches.
3. Determine the Android Version
Looking back from Android's humble beginnings, this platform had grown stronger and more stable as time went by. The latest Android operating system today is the Android 4.0 ICS, the one more popularly referred to as the Android Ice Cream Sandwich. Don't buy a tablet with an operating system lower than that as many new applications are not backwards compatible.
4. Overall performance
Here is where all the other important details about the Android tablet will come into play. Wireless connectivity and Bluetooth functionality are both crucial factors. Be sure to also check the internal memory of the device, along with its maximum extended memory capability. Then look at its available ports for added functionality. And if you want to use the tablet as a phone, it should be able to support SIM cards as well.
